Used Car Recon Technician

The Used Car Recon Technician plays a key role in preparing pre-owned vehicles for retail sale. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning used vehicles to dealership and manufacturer standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship that supports our dealership’s reputation for excellence.

• Inspect incoming used vehicles and identify necessary repairs and maintenance

• Perform mechanical repairs, safety checks, and system diagnostics

• Complete reconditioning tasks such as brake repair, suspension work, fluid services, tune-ups, and minor engine repairs

• Document repair needs accurately and communicate findings to the service team

• Ensure all repair and reconditioning work is completed efficiently and within established timelines

• Follow dealership and manufacturer standards for quality and safety

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace

• Support the service team as needed to ensure timely vehicle readiness

• Uphold high levels of customer satisfaction and dealership standards

• Previous experience as an automotive technician or recon technician preferred

• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Basic computer skills; familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS) is a plus

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
