Job SummaryThe instructor is primarily responsible for creating a performance‑based learning and teaching environment for students in accordance with the educational objectives of the College. This position requires instructors to be on campus; it is not a virtual or remote role.
Application InformationNTC accepts applications to build a pool of candidates. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part‑time adjunct instructor opportunities and your application will remain on file as a potential candidate. Part‑time instructors are hired on a per‑course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment the following semester. The teaching hours for a part‑time instructor vary and can include day, evening, and weekend classes.
Adjunct faculty can teach a maximum of 12 student contact hours per week averaged over the semester.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Plan learning‑centered instruction based on course competencies and performance levels, incorporating activities and teaching methods for diverse learning styles.
- Maintain accurate attendance, student success, and scholastic records and submit required reports within deadlines.
- Meet with classes as assigned and maintain a classroom/laboratory/shop environment emphasizing safety, good housekeeping, and equipment security.
- Use course text, outlines, syllabi, and other curriculum materials in accordance with college and department guidelines.
- Utilize learning technology for teaching, delivery of course content, assessment, online/distance learning, and student record keeping (e.g., Canvas, Starfish, Cengage, Teams). Communicate and respond to student questions, providing consistent and timely feedback.
- Actively participate in communications with the college, department, and team.
- Participate in the College's assessment process and professional development activities.
Required qualifications and competencies for the role include:
- Terminal or graduate‑level education in the relevant discipline.
- Experience in teaching undergraduate or community college courses.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with technology platforms such as Canvas, Starfish, Cengage, and Teams.
