Starting hourly rate based on qualifications: $21.67

The Student Services Assistant serves as the first point of contact for students, staff, and community members, providing support via phone, virtual platforms, and in‑person interactions. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, assisting with admissions, registration, and financial aid referrals, supporting processes such as document collection, cashiering, exam proctoring, and additional general office tasks.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, or in‑person.
- Assist with general office duties: scheduling appointments, managing data entry, and maintaining student correspondence.
- Support special projects, community events, and campus initiatives.
- Guide students on admissions, financial aid, academic appeals, and document submission in Workday.
- Learn and use software applications, including Workday, Canvas, Formstack, and Microsoft Office, while supporting IT upgrades and troubleshooting.
- Process student registrations and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain flexibility for occasional evening, weekend, or travel hours.
Wausau Campus
:
Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM; evenings until 6 PM;
Saturdays 8:00 AM–12:00 PM on a rotational basis.
Regional Campuses
:
Monday‑Thursday 7:30 AM–5:00 PM;
Friday 7:30 AM–12:00 PM; occasional Saturday hours.
- Entry level; no prior experience required.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to utilize and troubleshoot common office software.
- Adaptability for flexible work schedule.
