Location: Town of Wausau

Job Summary

This full‑time faculty position will support instruction for Northcentral Technical College’s (NTC) Dental Therapy program. The role supervises and teaches Dental Therapy students in NTC’s on‑site dental clinic through clinical enrichment experiences while staying familiar with the program’s objectives, content, instructional methods, and evaluation procedures. The individual hired will work 44 weeks out of 52 weeks per year. This in‑person position is located on campus in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Essential

Functions And Responsibilities (Teaching)
  • Facilitate learning through classroom activities, distance learning experiences, out‑of‑classroom activities, and mentoring of students and peers.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance in alignment with the College assessment plan in a timely manner.
  • Conduct assigned classes for the scheduled length of time.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and clinical evaluations, and ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws.
  • Furnish written evaluations as requested by students.
  • Maintain course outcome summaries, learning plans, Performance Assessment Tasks (PATs), syllabi, and online Learning Management System templates in the approved College format and time parameter.
  • Actively select and use appropriate learning materials and resources including textbooks, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning.
  • Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a new or modified course/certificate/program. Stay current and focused on learner needs.
  • Keep professionally up‑to‑date in area of content expertise and in the teaching profession.
  • Actively support diverse learners.
  • Maintain professional certifications, licensures, and requirements.
  • Maintain documentation as required by accreditation, program, or clinical sites.
  • Assist, participate, support, and carry out the duties as assigned.
College Support Duties
  • Submit final grades by the scheduled due date identified on the academic calendar.
  • Post and maintain office hours.
  • Coordinate instructional support services to meet individual student accommodation and modification needs.
  • Utilize and engage in professional day activities and team time as designated.
  • Participate in institutional, advisory and program team and committee meetings.
  • Attend the College’s in‑service sessions, commencements, and other activities as directed.
  • Assist in student recruitment and Student Services activities.
  • Attend College Open Houses (on‑campus and off‑campus, set‑up and take‑down) to assist with student recruitment.
Minimum Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s Degree

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
  • Faculty must have completed a Dental Therapy program and obtain a Wisconsin Dental Therapy license.
Experience

2 Years

Additional Experience Information
  • Occupational instructors must have a minimum of two years (4,000 hours) full‑time or equivalent demonstrated relevant occupational experience, one of which must be within the last five years.
  • May waive the occupational experience of one year within the last five years if the candidate has two years post‑secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years.
  • Must obtain a Wisconsin Dental Therapy License within one year of employment.
  • Upon employment and throughout employment, must meet and continue to meet the WTCS and Higher Learning Commissions requirements, accreditation standards, and/or licensing standards, where applicable.
  • Experience in teaching and working with diverse populations preferred.
