Overview

Faculty, Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor at Inside Higher Ed for Northcentral Technical College (NTC) on campus in Wausau, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, in-person position with possible travel to regional campuses based on need. Applications must be submitted by 12:01 a.m., September 22, 2025.

Job Summary

The full-time faculty supports Northcentral Technical College’s Nursing Assistant program by delivering high-quality instruction and fostering student success. This position teaches courses within the program, develops and maintains course materials, and aligns instruction with program objectives and evaluation procedures. The role involves working 40 weeks within a 52-week academic year, collaborating with colleagues, engaging in professional development, and supporting College initiatives to enhance the learning experience and achieve program goals.

Please note this is an in-person position located on campus in Wausau, Wisconsin, and will be required to travel to other Regional Campuses, based on need.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Teaching & Student Success:
    Facilitate student learning through engaging instructional strategies across modalities (in-person, online, hybrid, and out-of-class activities); mentor students and peers.
  • Adhere to the academic calendar, teaching assignments, office hours, and conduct classes for the scheduled length of time in accordance with the faculty contract.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance; provide timely feedback and grades; maintain accurate student records, attendance, and lab/clinical evaluations in compliance with privacy laws (FERPA).
  • Develop and maintain course materials including outcome summaries, learning plans, PATs, syllabi, and LMS templates within the approved College format and timelines.
  • Select and utilize appropriate learning materials and resources to enhance learning; review, revise, and create curriculum according to NTC standards.
  • Assist in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating new or modified courses/certificates/programs.
  • Stay current with evolving learner needs and educational trends; provide written evaluations upon student request.
Specific Instructional Program Duties
  • Adapt to fast-paced delivery of course content in online, in-person, and clinical environments.
  • Collaborate with multiple instructors to ensure consistent course delivery across sections.
  • Engage with regional and local healthcare partners during clinical rotations; maintain professional communication and partnerships.
  • Provide instruction in mobile classroom settings; demonstrate flexibility to varied environments.
College/Program Area Support
  • Maintain program documentation per accreditation and site standards if applicable.
  • Coordinate with instructional support services to address student accommodations and foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in faculty development, professional days, in-service events, commencement, and other College activities.
  • Assist in onboarding new full-time, part-time, adjunct faculty and other staff within the program.
  • Participate in institutional, advisory and program team meetings; assist with recruitment and Student Services activities as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business/industry partners, community organizations, and K-12 partners to strengthen program connections.
  • Carry out duties as assigned.
Professional Development
  • Maintain WTCS/FQAS qualifications and meet accreditation or licensing standards, as applicable.
  • Maintain professional certifications, licensures, and credentials required by the program area.
  • Remain current in content expertise and the teaching profession.
