About This RoleThis floating assistant position would float between our nine classrooms and the kitchen as needed to cover staff who are out. Assists in creating a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education.
What You'll Do- Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
- Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to school.
- Follow all center policies, Head Start Performance Standards, and state regulations.
- Assist with transporting children to or from school on a school bus.
- Participate in family-style meals with the children.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- In kitchen, assist with preparing/serving meals; cleaning dishes; cleaning tables and floors after meals.
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- An understanding of child development..
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Willing to take necessary trainings (ex: pediatric CPR and first aid)
Associate Degree in Early Childhood or Preschool CDA Certificate required OR be willing to enroll in a program working towards earning an associate degree in Early Childhood or the Preschool CDA Certificate.
- Full-time, 35 hour a week position.
