The Quality Engineer will oversee the entirety of the quality assurance process for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
Responsibilities- Review and approve engineering packets for new orders as part of cross-functional review.
- Develop Process Control Plans and PFMEAs as required.
- Interact with external customers and suppliers regarding product nonconformances and conduct failure analysis when needed.
- Initiate internal and external Corrective Actions (CARs/SCARs) when necessary.
- Supervise incoming and first article inspection areas and generate customer PPAP reports.
- Determine sampling plans, forms, and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability trend data.
- Maintain the calibration program, ensuring tooling and equipment are scheduled for calibration at defined intervals and that records are accurate.
- Manage the Quality and Inspection Team to meet customer expectations.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
- Three to five years of quality experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with FMEA, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing techniques, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and a strong team player.
- Ability to analyze data quickly and drive concepts to deliverables.
- Experience leading a team to success and the ability to adapt to change.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information to a broad audience.
- Highly organized, consistent, and proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Independent work style, proactive behavior, and high resiliency.
