* Position Summary:

** Purchases materials, off the shelf items, parts, supplies and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures.  Optimizes price, delivery and terms.  This is an intermediate level position who typically purchases $3.5 to $10 million per year.
** Responsibilities:
*** Reviews MRP requirements and creates purchase orders as needed
* Owns the MRO purchasing side of the business
* Analyzes and maintains open purchase orders; follows-up and expedites as necessary
* Provide weekly updates to scheduler for past due orders
* Reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, and production challenges to all applicable stakeholders, including management
* Performs all necessary activities and coordinates with all applicable departments to ensure adequate parts inventory levels for short and medium term production needs
* Manage VMI systems with specific suppliers
* Manage kanban items on shop floor and coordinate with suppliers
** Required Education / Experience /

Skills:

*** Excel, Word, ERP system, experience with Oracle is preferred
* Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods is required
* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods and coordination of people and resources are desired
* High School Diploma or GED
* Associates Degree is preferred
* 3+ years of related experience
