Team Lead - Senior Accountant
to join our team!
The Team Lead - Senior Accountant will act in an informal leadership capacity for the AHP finance team, overseeing several core accounting functions including financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, and performing research and analysis as directed. They will frequently lead projects as assigned and provide oversight and approval of other staff’s work. Additionally, they will take a lead role in utilizing data analytics to help the AHP Finance Director create financial forecasts and projections.
The Team Lead - Senior Accountant is responsible for organizing and monitoring the progress of team projects, initiatives and assignments. They will work directly with team members and then effectively communicate progress, roadblocks and solutions to the Director. They connect with team members to understand concerns in the department and work to provide resolution.
In addition, they support the AHP Finance Director in driving strategic planning and forecasting processes that support decision making. They contribute to larger system finance initiatives as part of the fiscal services team and collaborate to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for the Division.
The Team Lead - Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the accurate, complete and timely preparation of reports, providing analytical support for projects, as well improvement of finance processes, procedures and documentation. This position interacts with cross‑functional groups throughout the organization both within and outside of Finance and the Health Plan.
HOURS:Full Time or 1.00 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks.
Experience/Qualifications- Knowledge of accounting standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience in related area.
- Knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of five to seven years of health care financial management experience.
