Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our team!

The Recreational Therapist provides goal‑oriented treatment, leisure education, and general recreational services designed to meet the needs, competencies, capabilities and interests of patients from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

HOURS:

Full Time or .8 FTE, 64 hours every pay period. Day shift, no weekends or holidays.

• Knowledge of therapy standards and practices acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy.
• At least one year of experience working in the field of recreational therapy beneficial.
• Experience in a clinical setting working with inpatient and Rehab patients and training in transfer skills beneficial.
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.

• Possesses a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required.
• Certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) preferred.
