Position Summary
We’re looking for a certified pharmacy technician in the Wausau or Rhindelander, WI area, ready to bring their skills into the specialty pharmacy space. As our Pharmacy Liaison, you’ll play a pivotal role as the bridge between patients and pharmacists, ensuring exceptional care.
- Patient Relationship Development and Client Sales – Focus on sales/customer service with the goal of expanding your patient account base by enrolling and retaining specialty pharmacy services offered through Clearway Health.
- Sales and Enrollment – Achieve enrollment goals; perform enrollment functions, follow up on leads, generate leads through provider relationships or direct customer engagements.
- Patient Retention – Build relationships with patients, offer friendly and efficient service, provide a continuum of medication adherence support, and perform outbound therapy/medication adherence check‑ups.
- Personnel Responsibilities – Build and maintain relationships with providers, care teams, and ancillary support to ensure continuity of sales and enrollment functions.
- Internal Relationships – Develop and nurture trusting relationships with complex patients, support pharmacy inter‑departmental relationships, and ensure a smooth transition of patient care from clinic to pharmacy.
- External Relationships – Lead strategic partnerships with healthcare professionals, provide necessary information and support to ensure successful patient care transitions.
- Operational Responsibilities – Navigate the patient Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for prior authorizations, maintain effective communication with healthcare professionals, resolve high‑level patient care issues, manage workload independently, and support training of new hires.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; higher level education preferred.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of application.
- Active and unrestricted National Certification verified by PTCB or ExCPT.
- 2+ years of direct pharmacy experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, including professional phone communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deliver superb, personalized customer service and instill confidence.
- Organized with strong attention to detail; self‑directed through multitasking and prioritizing; dependable, empathetic, goal oriented.
- Cultural sensitivity, understanding, and comfort with diverse populations.
- Practice discretion and confidentiality with sensitive data.
- Ability to understand, explain, and actively promote the client’s objectives through direct coordination.
- Flexibility to adapt to departmental needs.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn other relevant applications quickly.
- Knowledge of transplants, hepatitis C, infectious diseases (including HIV), oncology, and other specialty medication therapies.
- Bilingual or multi‑lingual skills beyond English.
- Knowledge of prior authorization request processes to third party payors.
- Familiarity with 340B drug program and ACO hospital models.
- Knowledge of EPIC, Salesforce, Liberty, or other pharmacy/EMR systems.
- May require work on company‑recognized holidays; eligible for holiday pay.
Wausau, WI
PAY & BENEFITSSalary: $56,000 – $63,000 per year. The actual rate within this range that you will be offered will depend on factors such as geography, skills, education, experience, and other relevant factors.
