Communications Technician

Our client is seeking a Communications Technician to join their dedicated team. As a Communications Technician, you will be part of the Radio Support Department supporting the Radio Program team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization.

9+ months (highly possible extension)

Wausau, WI (Onsite; candidates must be current WI residents or willing to relocate prior to starting the role. Flexibility in office location is available, including Green Bay, Black River Falls, and Tomahawk.)

• Support and maintain VHF Radio Systems across multiple sites and divisions.
• Install and troubleshoot vehicle and office electronics related to radio communication equipment.
• Coordinate with team members and external partners to ensure reliable radio network operations.
• Utilize radio test equipment and programming tools to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Assist in the management of approximately 150 repeaters and 2000 radios supporting public safety and operational needs.

• At least 2 years of experience with conventional VHF Radio System operability.
• Technical competency with electronic equipment and installation procedures.
• Experience with vehicle and office electronics installation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
