Travel Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Job – Wausau, Wisconsin

• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2100-$2250

• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin (Zip: 54401) – Central Wisconsin healthcare jobs
• Unit: Neuro ICU (8-bed critical care unit)
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Contract)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2025
• End Date: February 28, 2026
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), variable schedule
• Hours: 48 hours/week guaranteed with overtime after 48 hours worked
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float: May float to MSICU and other critical care units as needed

• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing (minimum); BSN preferred
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• At least 2 years of ICU nursing experience; prior travel RN assignment preferred
• Strong clinical background in Neuro ICU and/or Med/Surg ICU
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) charting
• Experience with neuro assessments, EVDs, ICP monitoring, and ICU bedside procedures
• Resilient, adaptable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neurocritical patients (stroke, TBI, head injury, post-neurosurgery)
• Conduct neuro assessments and perform basic ICU procedures (line placement, intubation)
• Assist neurosurgery team with bolt and drain placements at the bedside
• Monitor and manage patients with EVDs and ICP devices
• Float to MSICU and other critical care units as needed
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
