: ATTIC stands for "Alternatives to Traditional Incarceration of Citizens." We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to developing interventions that enable individuals to avoid unnecessary levels of incarceration, enhance community safety and provide a setting that facilitates treatment and the reduction of recidivism. We operate residential and other correctional programs throughout Wisconsin that provide case management, counseling and treatment groups, vocational training and high-risk client monitoring and supervision.

Residential Treatment Centers for Correctional Clients operate 24 hours per day with on-duty staff for our clients. Staff monitor client behaviors and whereabouts in the community and enforce program rules and accountability. Substance abuse counseling, cognitive-based programming and correctional case management are provided in an intensive setting. Clients can be granted gradual re-entry into the community based on earned privileges. All service components of our Residential Treatment Centers emphasize trauma-informed care and employ an individualized approach to each client.

Position Overview

The Behavioral Support Assistant will provide security and supervision of correctional clients at one of our Residential Treatment Centers. They will monitor their whereabouts and behavior, maintain paperwork (daily logs, progress notes, event reports), conduct facility checks, and assign client activities (chores, tasks, urinalysis/breathalyzer testing). The Behavioral Support Assistant will supervise diverse clients in duties such as meal preparation and household chores to help provide the necessary skills to maintain responsibility, take initiative, and accountability.

You'll Do

• Provide a safe environment for clients
• Supervise the client’s whereabouts and behavior.
• Maintain required paperwork – daily logs, progress notes, and incident reporting.
• Conduct facility checks.
• Assign client activities - chore task, urinalysis/breathalyzer testing.
• Supervise client meal preparation, and household chores ensuring accountability.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• One year of experience working with correctional clients.

Currently hiring weekend only staff for the following shifts:

• 1 for 8 AM - 4 PM
• 1 for 4 PM - 12 AM
• 1 for 12 AM - 8 AM

Qualifications Education & Work Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• One year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, or law enforcement preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to interact with staff, clients, and agents in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information.
• Strong decision making abilities and able to work independently.
• Knowledge of nutrition and sanitation.
• Experience in record-keeping.
