*** The Children's Medical Group (CMG) Regional Medical Director is a physician that provides clinical and administrative leadership for a designated region of primary care clinics within CMG. The medical director is responsible for ensuring that all program and clinical performance under his/her leadership conform to CMG and CHW standards for quality and that physicians and advanced practice clinicians adhere to all applicable CMG and CHW policies and procedures.

The medical director shares joint responsibility and accountability with CMG dyad leader partner(s) for outcome results in provider and staff engagement, physician practice optimization, timely patient access, patient/family experience and budget and financial performance targets. The medical director: reports to the President of CMG for medical matters and Vice President of Primary Care for administrative matters; partners with CMG directors and practice managers within the assigned region to achieve operational goals and objectives;

and has oversight for providers within the assigned region.

* ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

*** Serves as a member of the leadership team responsible for the strategic and operational goal activities and outcomes of Children’s Medical Group.
* In collaboration with other CMG administrative leaders, is responsible and accountable for key practice performance measures outcome results and participates in identified improvement opportunities and plans within the areas of clinical quality, safety, people, culture and finances.
* Serves as a key communications link by regularly meeting with clinic and provider teams within the region to inform and receive information relevant to the services delivered to children and families.
* Participates in medical and other  leadership development opportunities for professional growth.
* Participates in Human Resources efforts for recruitment, retention and performance evaluation of the providers within the assigned region.
* Collaborates with the CMG professional staff and other leaders within CMG and across the CW system in reviewing and developing procedures, practice improvements and addressing other concerns.
* Collaborates with appropriate CMG committees and the CW medical staff for input and action related to provider clinical performance and professionalism expectations.
* Spends at least one and no more than two days/week performing relevant clinical work.
* Dedicates at least one-half day per week rounding in designated clinical sites with the goal of visiting every regional site at least twice annually.
* Is allowed protected discretionary time of at least one half-day per week.
