The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra – You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Sr. Product Quality Engineer, , Routed Systems.

Job Summary: The Senior Product Quality Engineer plays a critical role in bridging the work between the Quality and Product Development teams. This hands‑on position requires a deep understanding of motorcycle components, systems, testing, and related processes. As the Senior Product Quality Engineer, you will take end‑to‑end ownership of product quality for specific components, collaborating closely with design, testing, supply, and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities include driving Design for Quality (DFQ) from the outset of each program, leading and mentoring cross‑functional teams through key processes such as DFMEA, DVP&R, and PFMEA. You will also guide the design engineering and supply quality teams in supplier process assessments and help integrate insights and learnings back into the product design and requirement documents.

Above all, you will be accountable for ensuring the final quality of your components, directly impacting the customer experience and satisfaction. Your leadership and expertise will be integral to the successful development and delivery of high‑quality products. This position is looking for an interest and expertise in electrical and hydraulic routed systems.

Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering for active participation in design reviews and continuously throughout the development process
  • Solve complex problems and provide solutions using both creative processes and analytical methods. Will work independently, requiring guidance only on the most complex situations.
  • Manage and execute assigned product development quality tasks as defined in the product development process, accountable for the quality of DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and control plans to prevent product defects to achieve short and long‑term quality goals.
  • Coordinate with other quality functions to analyze for quality improvements to enable design activities on time and with improved quality.
  • Create and manage processes related to design quality, knowledge capture, and product launch readiness by being involved throughout the development process from concept through end of life.
  • Proactively engage in issue resolution through the project team and escape issues early as appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement of product launch processes and product designs for improved quality and customer experience.
  • Ensure critical deliverables and timelines are met for assigned development programs.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Experience Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • In‑depth conceptual and practical knowledge of design quality, practices, and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively within a group and/or team and provide guidance to peers, management, and new team members.
  • Track record of reviewing designs and determining appropriate testing/controls to ensure implementation of robust solutions.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%.

Preferred:

  • Engineering design, test validation, APQP, and PPAP experience
  • 3D modelling of routed systems with clearance or creepage analysis
  • Expertise in connector, terminal, and splice specification
  • Routed system rules; bend radii, flow violations, fitting selection
  • Motorcycle enthusiast, riding experience, and knowledge of motorcycles, service, or accessories.
