Job Summary

The Medical Assistant supports both clinical and administrative operations in a busy clinic setting. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to assist with patient care, front desk coverage, documentation, and coordination with providers, insurance companies, and pharmacies.

Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Greet patients in person and over the phone and determine the purpose of their visit
  • Provide outstanding customer service to create a welcoming patient experience
  • Register and check in patients; collect paperwork and verify insurance information
  • Schedule patient appointments according to established guidelines
  • Answer and route calls on a multi-line phone system
  • Prepare, pull, organize, scan, and file patient charts
  • Perform vitals and assist with labs
  • Assist providers with patient care and clinic workflows
  • Communicate with outside providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies
  • Assist with prior authorizations and chart monitoring
  • Support front desk operations, including payment processing and cash logs
  • Maintain a clean and organized waiting area
  • Proctor tablet-based applications for patient use
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with clinic policies
  • Remain organized and focused in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant (required)
Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow clinic policies and procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to daily workflow needs
  • Positive, professional, and patient-focused attitude
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinic or hospital setting
  • Medical Assistant or CNA experience in a clinical environment
Skills
  • EMR experience preferred
  • Comfortable using Apple computers and learning new systems
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Schedule / Shift
  • Full-time
  • 4 days per week
  • Monday-Thursday: 7:50 AM - 5:00 PM (some days may extend to 5:30 PM)
  • Occasional Friday training with advance notice
  • No weekends

Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)).
  • 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
