Direct Support Professional Community Living Specialist

North Star is seeking a Direct Support Professional for Supported Community Living (DSP- SCL). You will be working with clients who have physical or mental disabilities and need assistance with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and transportation, as well as providing support with recreational activities, community integration. As a Community Living DSP, you will work in the home providing support services.

You will be aiding clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

• Assist clients in learning life skills
• Maintain a safe living environment
• Assist individuals with housekeeping, personal hygiene, and other routine needs
• Provide transportation to social outings, doctor appointments, and other activities
• Promote independence while providing the necessary support
• Deliver individualized support for each patient
• Establish a safe and trusting relationship with patients
• Maintain regular paperwork, including fiscal reports, behavioral assessments, medication logs, casework notes, and daily activity logs
• Document changes and updates using a computer
• Maintain extensive knowledge of clients' needs
• The work environment at North Star is casual and relaxed

• Have compassion and care to work with others in a supported home environment
• Enjoy working with individuals to help them in community activities in work, recreation, and other personal activities that promote living a preferred lifestyle in their community
• Must be able to use own vehicle, be insured, and have an acceptable driving record

• Overnights Friday and Saturday 10 pm – 10 am
• Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 2 pm – 10 pm
• Monday – Friday 2 pm – 5 pm
• Monday – Thursday 7 am – 8:45 am
• Thursday 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
