Position: Mgr, Agronomy Area Sales - AgVantage FS - North Central, IA

Purpose and Summary Statement

Assists with the development and implementation of marketing plans, generating profitability, and maximizing organic growth through key marketing activities.

Supervision and Leadership

Supervises, leads, and develops the assigned Crop Specialists and Crop Associates personnel to successfully grow the company’s business by providing leadership, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and actively maintaining performance management standards.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans within the assigned territory.
  • Ensures profitable sales growth of the assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, risk management, and continual management and evaluation of the assigned sales team.
  • Develops and implements an effective sales administration plan that includes setting expectations, training, regular in‑field coaching, measuring results, and follow‑up.
  • Develops annual sales goals and key objectives that align with organizational goals and objectives through collaboration with the assigned sales team, oversees implementation, and is responsible for outcome.
  • Ensures the assigned sales team complies with government regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures company credit policies and procedures are followed within the assigned sales team.
Other Job Functions
  • Recruits, selects, and retains quality personnel; trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees to develop individual talents.
  • Conducts and assists with training and informational meetings.
  • Assists with the development of the company budget by forecasting sales volumes, projected margins, and expense items.
  • Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area or equivalent, and six (6) years or more of business‑related work experience to demonstrate advanced marketing and sales leadership, supervisory skills, profitable sales generation, customer base development, and market share gains.

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and ability to travel independently and overnight.

Must be able to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.

Preference for an understanding of GROWMARK energy division products and services.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry (e.g., CCA).

Occasionally Exposed or Required To
  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.).
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
  • May be required to work at varying heights.
  • Lift 51–70 lbs.
