Cardiology Tech 2 Position

The Cardiology Tech 2 is responsible for performing non‑invasive, stat, pre‑operative and outpatient EKG testing to support physicians in the delivery of patient care. Records electromotive variations in action of heart muscle by using an electrocardiograph machine to provide data for diagnosis of heart ailments. May assist junior staff.

• Complete all necessary steps to acquire and process electrocardiograms and other tests.
• Explain test procedures, prepare patients and provide instructions.
• Utilize all EKG equipment, record accurate information to obtain high‑quality results.
• Monitor heart rates, arrhythmias and blood pressure under physician supervision.
• Perform Holter monitor hookups, event recorder hook‑ups, trans telephonic monitoring in the Pacemaker Clinic.
• Perform stress tests under supervision of a Senior EKG Technician or a physician.
• Perform Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) treatments.
• Perform Signal‑Average EKGs and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.
• Operate the MUSE EKG database system.
• Review medical records and documentation under supervision to ensure safety and procedural standards.
• Record EKG data during study to ensure patient safety.
• Assist with ancillary cardiac testing services when working with other departments.
• Download, print, and attach proper documentation to traces for billing transactions.
• Input patient demographic and test data into the computerized EKG machine promptly and accurately.
• Instruct and train new personnel in equipment use and testing protocols.
• Mentor junior technicians on arrhythmia recognition and safe testing methods.
• Perform other position‑appropriate duties as required.

• Education: High‑School Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Experience: 2 Years of Experience.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
