Position:
Ultrasound Technologist (Ultrasound Tech)
Location:
Baylor Scott & White-Waxahachie
Shift: Evening – Monday to Thursday 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The Ultrasound Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist or physician, performs ultrasound procedures in ambulatory and/or hospital environment as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
Essential Functions- Perform high quality ultrasound procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner.
- Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients; prepare patient and area for procedure; position patient, adjust immobilization devices, set equipment controls, ensure safety and infection control, use sterile techniques for invasive procedures; maintain equipment and work area quality.
- Assist in maintaining supplies inventory; screen visitors for safety; obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation (requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, etc.).
- Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system and according to department policies for interpretation in a timely manner.
- Work with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment; report issues to management or appropriate department.
- Able to perform high quality ultrasound procedures according to exam protocol and in a timely manner.
- Able to explain the procedure, put patients at ease, provide timely and accurate service, maintain cost‑efficiency, and adhere to system and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight, maintain a calm and helpful attitude under stress, and resolve issues appropriately.
- Able to administer first aid, use emergency cart, and limit wait times to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Able to provide training to new team members and support new services and initiatives.
- Able to take call if required.

- Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification/license/registration – Must hold one of the following: ARRT‑BS Breast Sonography, ARRT‑S Sonography, Musculoskeletal Sonography (MSK), Reg Diag Med Sono‑Abdomen (AB) (RDMS‑AB), Reg Diag Med Sono‑Breast (BR) (RDMS‑BR), Reg Diag Med Sono‑OB/GYN (OB) (RDMS‑OB), Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT); registered in one of the ARDMS (OB/GYN, AB, , MSK, RVT) or ARRT(S) / (BS) or CCI (RVS).
