The City of Waxahachie is pleased to announce that we are seeking a Utility Plant Operator/Trainee to join our Utilities Department. Salary Range Utility Plant Operator Trainee $50,230.70 - $72,081.06 (DOQ)
Salary Range Utility Plant Operator $61,055.74 - $87,614.98 (DOQ)
Utility Plant Operator Trainee Education, Training andExperience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- No experience is necessary; however, preference may be given to applicants that have field-related education, training, licensing, or exceed the minimum qualifications for this position.
- Must be able to read, write, and use math skills to work with complicated formulas, equipment, chemicals, etc. under all working conditions.
- A valid State driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate, valid class "D" license by the end of the 6-month orientation period.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate, valid class "C" water operator's license issued by the State of Texas within 18 months of employment.
Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by specialized training in utility plant operations.
- One year of utility plant operations and maintenance experience.
- A valid State driver license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Possession and maintenance of an appropriate, valid class "C" water operator’s license issued by the TCEQ.
