OverviewUnder minimal supervision of the president of Coastal Pines Technical College, plans, administers and evaluates economic development services. Provides leadership in developing non‑credit training solutions, fosters college relations with employers, chambers of commerce, and state agencies, and advises students on academic requirements.
Responsibilities- Plan and organize the daily operation of the department, including continuing education, off‑campus activities, industrial projects, customized training and computer‑based testing.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with businesses, industries, agencies and community organizations to promote the college.
- Assist community leaders in recruiting new businesses and expanding existing businesses in the service area.
- Solicit stakeholder input to develop non‑credit training programs.
- Conduct industry job/training analysis.
- Promote, develop, provide instruction, and administer adult staff‑development and pre‑employment training programs.
- Request funds and approve expenditures for staff development; manage human and fiscal resources.
- Develop procedures for assigned functions and ensure compliance with accreditation criteria.
- Supervise delivery of customized Technical Certificates of Credit programs as needed.
- Provide input for divisional marketing strategies and enter program schedules in Banner.
- Keep knowledge of current trends by attending conferences and reading professional literature.
- Participate in the college’s strategic planning process.
- Participate in annual planning and budgeting.
- Oversee rental of facilities to community and industry and coordinate off‑campus training sites for CPTC programs.
- Serve on institutional committees.
- Oversee development and annual updates of the Business Continuity Plan, Facilities Use Procedure, Tobacco Use Procedure, Non‑credit Instruction, Proctored Testing, Use of Alcohol, Use of Campus Facilities, and other assigned procedures.
- Participate in required staff development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and seven (7) years of work‑related experience OR master’s degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of work‑related experience.

Salary/BenefitsSalary will be determined in accordance with guidelines established by the Technical College System of Georgia. Benefits include the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program, State of Georgia holidays, and annual/sick leave.
