Job Summary And Qualifications
The Multi-Modality Technologist is a Radiologic Technologist registered in two or more of the following modalities (CT, Ultra Sonography, Mammography, MR, or Nuclear Medicine) performing duties as outlined by the Radiologist. Involves general guidance and direction by Supervisors and Department Manager. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies, procedures and Radiologist protocols.
What you will do:
- Operates diagnostic equipment, processes images and prepares room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure
- Responsible for assisting in the primary mission of the medical imaging department by ensuring that proper diagnostic information is provided through the production of high-quality scans, protocol adherence, critical thinking, excellent patient care and obtaining clinically relevant history.
- Other duties include, but are not limited to clerical, scheduling, transportation, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning and anything deemed necessary by the Medical Imaging Management Team.
- Role will require a multi-modality clinical competency fulfilled by routine participation in the crossed trained modality.
- As applicable to the modality the technologist follows the Radiation Protection Program including ALARA, as low as reasonably achievable for patients, physicians, and personnel and is responsible for the protection of patients and staff from the magnetic field.
- Follows all regulatory compliance for DHEC, Joint Commission, ACR and any regulatory agency governing radiation safety.
- May include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.
- Must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student.
- Performs in accordance with delineated job responsibilities and satisfactorily completes a yearly evaluation based on these responsibilities.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
