About the RoleDistrict Shift Leaders participate in a targeted General Manager development plan to learn how to be a bagel boss. Once the development plan is complete, you will be next in line to take ownership of a bakery as a General Manager when a position is available.
What’s a day in the life of a District Shift Leader?- Perform management duties at a home location and support other bakeries in the market as needed.
- Travel to gain further independence and learn from additional leaders in the area.
- Start shifts as early as 3am for the first bake and store opening duties.
- Lead by example, be a brand ambassador, and provide ongoing coaching and training for the teams.
- Jump into different roles each shift to ensure high‑quality food and beverages and keep a safe, clean store environment.
- Earn training in restaurant administrative duties such as inventory tracking, vendor orders, and cash management.
- Gain skills for a GM role such as P&L analysis, achieving food cost and labor targets, scheduling, and recruiting quality team members.
- Must be at least 18 years old to apply.

- Expected to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market
- Expected to accept a permanent General Manager promotion within the market when available; specific location not guaranteed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred
- Must be able to work varied hours and days as business dictates including early hours and weekends (starting as early as 3am)
- Must be able to pass a background check and possess a current, valid driver’s license
- Must complete Bagel Brands Serv Safe Certification program by the end of the GM development plan unless already in possession
- Tip eligibility subject to state regulations
$14.57 – $21.86 per hour (starting pay is subject to local and state minimum wage regulations). Ranges reflect what the employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for such position.
Physical DemandsRequires sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours. These requirements may be accommodated reasonably.
