Food Service Worker – Part‑time – Loker School
Location: Loker School
Reports To: Principal, Kitchen Manager, Food Services Director
Work days/FTE: 8 hours/week;

Wednesday and Thursday
Salary/Benefits: Salary/benefits per agreement with WPS Food Service Association (no benefits)
Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (C.O.R.I.), Sexual Offender Record Check (S.O.R.I.), and fingerprint.
- Experience in Food Service or related work is helpful, but training will be provided.
- Serv Safe Certification
- Allergy Awareness Certification
- Heartsaver CPR Certification
- Bilingual skills desirable but not required.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Food preparation: salads, sandwiches, heating foods.
- Provide foods for students and staff with allergies or dietary restrictions.
- Adhere to Food Service Rules, Guidelines, and Safety standards (training provided).
- Operate kitchen equipment.
- Cashiering: working knowledge of Nutri Kids POS.
- Assist in daily clean‑up.
- Participate in staff development program (4–6 hours minimum).
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors, co‑workers, students, and teachers.
- Maintain physical health suitable for kitchen work.
- Present a neat and clean appearance appropriate for food service.
- Interact in a manner that conveys commitment to equity and belonging.
- Any other relative duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Read material from computer monitor and printed documents.
- Hear voices and environmental noises.
- Communicate verbally and in writing.
- Remain in a stationary position for periods of time.
- Move through the kitchen, cafeteria, and school grounds.
- Operate kitchen equipment.
- Observe details at close range.
- Ensure safety of students and staff.
- Multitask and meet multiple demands from several people.
- Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work in a moderate to loud noise environment.
