The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting raw materials, components, packaging supplies, and finished goods to and from production, storage, and shipping/receiving areas. This role supports continuous production flow by staging materials, removing completed goods, and performing accurate ERP inventory transactions. The Material Handler ensures compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental guidelines while operating forklifts (Hi-Lo) and other material-handling equipment.
This position requires Hi-Lo (forklift) certification in accordance with company training policies.
- Load, unload, and move raw materials, components, and finished goods between production lines, storage areas, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Ensure the correct product is moved based on identifying markers on the product and the paperwork per company SOPs.
- Stage materials for upcoming production runs per the schedule and remove finished goods promptly to maintain workflow.
- Operate a forklift safely and adhere to all HSSE policies and procedures applicable.
- Practice proper bending, hand safety, etc., use PPE, and proactively address any unsafe conditions observed.
- Strictly adhere to all quality, HSSE, and conduct standards set by the company.
- Diligently keep up with documentation, ERP transactions, and paperwork as required and/or assigned.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, maintaining clean aisles and work areas.
- Assist with shipping and receiving, which includes loading and unloading trucks.
- Report damaged materials, defective pallets, or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
- Participate in periodic cycle counts or physical inventories as directed.
- Perform other reasonable responsibilities as required.
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift (90%+ of time on feet).
- Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment safely in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work performed in a manufacturing and warehouse setting.
- Non‑climate‑controlled work areas subject to seasonal temperature changes.
- Frequent exposure to moving equipment, forklifts, and moderate-to‑high noise levels (hearing protection provided as needed).
- Requires adherence to strict safety protocols and hazard awareness at all times.
