Position: Tool & Die Maker (2nd Shift)

Tool & Die Maker (2nd Shift) – Wayne, MI

Atkore is looking for an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our team in Wayne, MI. This full‑time position is a 2nd‑shift role and requires a Journeyman‑level toolmaker.

Compensation: Hourly wage of $35.85 for holders of a Journeyman card, $33.78 for non‑journeymen. Shift differential applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Produce and maintain all types of tools, dies, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine assemblies – perform necessary repairs on manually‑operated dies and progressive dies.
  • Conduct test runs on tools and dies to ensure all components meet specifications.
  • Adjust work as needed and independently select proper metals and materials to meet project specifications.
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to ensure demands are met.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork, transactions, tags, and related documentation.
  • Adhere to all Life‑Saving Rules, including LOTO, machine guarding, and PIT safety protocols.
  • Ensure daily safety, delivery, quality, and cost metrics are met.
  • Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of manufacturing experience; 3–5 years of tool & die making preferred.
  • Experience using CAD and CNC software preferred.
  • Basic math and verbal skills.
  • Excellent technical problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to learn and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and shift scheduling.
