Position SummaryThe HVAC Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging classroom and laboratory instruction that prepares students for entry-level employment in the HVAC industry. This role combines hands-on training, student mentorship, and industry expertise to create an effective learning experience that promotes student success, retention, and career readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver hands‑on HVAC instruction in classroom and lab settings
- Teach HVAC concepts, systems, troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and safety practices
- Demonstrate industry‑standard tools, equipment, and procedures
- Create an engaging learning environment that encourages participation and skill development
- Monitor student progress and provide coaching, feedback, and academic support
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records in accordance with established deadlines
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe training environment
- Promote safety awareness and promptly address potential concerns
- Provide students with course objectives, grading criteria, and syllabus information
- Collaborate with academic leadership to support student success initiatives
- Participate in curriculum enhancement and continuous improvement efforts
- Engage in campus activities, including orientations, advisory board meetings, and graduation ceremonies
- Minimum 3 years of professional HVAC industry experience
- Relevant HVAC certifications, licenses, or credentials as required by state regulations and accreditation standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and guide adult learners
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong organizational skills
- Commitment to student success and workforce development
