Senior Cost Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant who enjoys being hands‑on and close to manufacturing operations. This role will manage all core costing and inventory responsibilities, including standard cost maintenance, valuation, variance analysis, and close support. In addition to daily cost accounting, you will contribute to budgeting and forecasting, raw‑material costing, pricing and margin analysis. You will collaborate closely with production to analyze variances and improve processes, and work across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and finance to ensure clean reporting and a smooth close.

$110,000 - $130,000 per year

Annual Bonus

• Partner closely with the Controller to support month‑end and year‑end close, including journal entries, inventory valuation, and financial reporting
• Work cross‑functionally to ensure accurate monthly cutoffs across sales, inventory, receivables, and payables
• Maintain a strong perpetual inventory and standard cost system to support accurate financial reporting and analysis
• Prepare annual cost standards for product costing and update commodity prices and standards throughout the year
• Lead inventory cycle counts and scrap accounting processes, partnering with manufacturing, process engineers, and outside vendors
• Prepare and process cost rollups for new part numbers as needed
• Assist with the development of overhead cost pools for budgeting, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Support financial system enhancements, reporting improvements, and ad‑hoc projects as requested by the Controller or CFO

• 7+ years of experience in cost accounting and inventory accounting within a manufacturing environment
• Extensive experience in cost accounting including raw‑material costing and standard‑costs
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA preferred
• Able to interpret complex financial data and identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP software
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
