Job Overview

The Clinical Specialist, Cardiothoracic (CT) position provides strategic account management, expertise, and support with respect to Getinge Cardiac Assist products in an identified geographical area. The role includes customer training and education on the product portfolio, supporting product evaluations, and collaborating with the implementation team to ensure successful client outcomes. The position also indirectly sells and promotes Getinge Cardiac Surgery products within the defined geographic territory, focusing on key accounts and expanding usage through clinical evaluations, presentations, and customer support.

This territory will support the Northeast Region.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
  • Serve as a key business partner to clients in the field by developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Develop and understand Business Plans for assigned geographic territory.
  • Build relationships with hospital personnel through conversation, meetings, and conferences to broaden contacts across departments.
  • Proactively understand customer needs and, when complaints arise, develop creative and feasible solutions in collaboration with related personnel.
  • Support client needs—including product demonstrations, in‑services, case support, and handling product complaints—while identifying cases met best by specific Getinge products.
  • Observe procedures within hospital departments to gain insight into physician and staff nuances; support in‑services and staff training on assigned products.
  • Discuss and review with local reps to provide input on needs, issues, and suggestions for business plans, helping achieve annual Cardiac Surgery sales goals.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products through presentations and demonstrations using various formats.
  • Establish positive, cooperative working relationships with customers and Getinge personnel, resolving problems for mutual benefit.
  • Comply with all health and safety codes, procedures, Getinge policies, customer requirements, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support existing products and new Cardiac Surgery installations during visits to current customers, aiming to meet revenue and unit growth objectives on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum combined 5 years of applicable clinical experience in a hospital environment and/or sales support, including product education and training.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Required Knowledge,

  • Demonstrated record of success or achievement in clinical positions.
  • Solid understanding of the specified functional area and application of business concepts, procedures, and practices.
  • Capable of managing time and resources within the assigned territory to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work in a quality system environment, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and maintaining honesty, integrity, and strong work ethics.
  • Excellent teamwork capabilities and collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, organization, and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to operate within an established budget.
  • Sound knowledge of alternative solutions and judgment to select innovative methods for problem resolution.
  • Establish an extensive support network to facilitate assignment completion.
  • Mentor less experienced staff by setting an example and providing guidance.
  • Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and familiarity with CRM tools.
  • Use of computer, telephone equipment, and related office accessories/devices.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak business cycles.
  • Approximately 50% or more travel required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Sales Salary Range

Total Compensation = $160,000 – $165,200 (base + at‑plan target incentive) depending on experience and location.
