Are you a student in a healthcare or human services field looking for a job that actually builds your resume? This isn't a "get coffee" internship. Abound Health is seeking pre‑professionals to work as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This role offers flexible schedules (mornings, evenings, weekends) that you can build around your classes.

A Day in the Life
  • Patient Care & Support:
    Assist with activities of daily living, personal care, and mobility.
  • Healthcare

    Skills:

    Gain experience in medication administration, wound care, and monitoring physical and mental health needs.
  • Case Management & Advocacy:
    Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs), serve as a patient advocate, and help individuals navigate community resources.
  • Clinical Documentation:
    Complete all necessary documentation of care, service provision, and medication logs, a critical skill in all healthcare fields.
  • Behavioral Support:
    Learn to implement positive behavior supports and de‑escalation strategies.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Pre‑Med, child education, or a related human services field.
  • A strong desire to learn and gain hands‑on healthcare experience.
  • Excellent communication, accountability, and time management skills.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
