Job Description

Position:
Unit Manager – Wayne, NJ.

Salary Range: 87K-115K.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure required staffing levels are met for each shift to render care for assigned residents.
  • Adjust staffing levels and update the Federal required posted schedule as needed.
  • Lead the weekly resident "At Risk" meeting to identify care concerns and ensure appropriate interventions.
  • Participate in morning clinical review meetings.
  • Participate in PPS meetings as indicated.
  • Assist with monthly QA and A meetings, follow up on identified problems.
  • Monitor resident care by licensed nurses and C.N.A.’s, ensuring documentation completion.
  • Review 24‑hour resident condition reports daily, ensuring follow‑up, interventions, and documentation.
  • Review resident medical records and documentation to ensure clinical programs per policy.
  • Identify staff educational needs and collaborate with the Facility Educator to meet them.
  • Participate in committees requested by the Administrator/Director of Nursing Services.
  • Ensure resident care and documentation comply with state and federal rules.
  • Enforce HIPAA compliance, reporting violations to the Administrator and Director of Nursing Services.
  • Assign work, including breaks and lunches, ensuring compliance.
  • Initiate disciplinary action when necessary with the DON/ADON.
  • Communicate with department managers/DON to resolve grievances from personnel, residents, or families.
  • Ensure physician orders are followed.
  • Assist the DON/ADON with performance evaluations and greet new admissions and families.
  • Within 24 to 48 hours, ensure all admission documentation is complete with clinical assessments and care plans.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for proper administration.
  • Provide direct nursing care as required.
  • Report problem areas and assist with corrective action to the Director of Nursing.
  • Attend continuing education programs to maintain licensure and practice standards.
  • Ensure nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including dress code.
  • Ensure participation in fire safety and disaster preparedness drills.
  • Ensure staff follows infection control procedures during isolation precautions.
  • Ensure safe operation of nursing equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Assessment/Care Plan Coordinator on written care plans.
  • Maintain privacy, knocking before entering resident rooms.
  • Assist with investigation of resident abuse allegations.
  • Assist Social Services with Advance Directive/Code Status documentation.
  • Participate in annual survey and complaint processes and assist with corrective plans.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or RN program graduate.
  • Actively licensed RN in the assigned state(s).
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Two years of LTC experience.
  • Acute Care experience preferred.
