Sales Associate III – Coach

The Sales Associate role is an integral part of the store’s success, focused on delivering Coach’s Service and Selling Models, creating a positive first impression, building ongoing customer relationships through a personalized experience, and leaving a lasting impression.

Sales

Floor – Responsibilities
  • Understand organizational objectives and make decisions aligned with Company priorities.
  • Own personal performance metrics and develop clienteling strategies in partnership with management.
  • Create short- and long-term strategies to achieve personal metrics and performance goals.
  • Own personal survey results and develop improvement plans.
  • Represent Coach as a brand ambassador and demonstrate selling and service expectations at all times.
  • Understand local market changes and support execution of local sales strategies and tactics.
  • Drive business through sales strategies, clienteling, sourcing new customers, and maintaining productive customer relationships.
  • Present a professional appearance aligned with Coach’s Guide to Style.
  • Build credibility as a personal fashion advisor with knowledge of fashion, competition, features, benefits, and current offerings.
  • Communicate current pricing and promotional strategy to customers; discuss product features and leverage cross-selling opportunities.
  • Cross-sell and promote complementary products based on customer needs.
  • Be responsive to customers’ needs, tailoring approach accordingly; attend to individual shopping needs and manage multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Follow up with customers to influence/close sales; adapt selling techniques to contribute to store financial results.
  • Build lasting relationships and leverage tools to support clienteling; promote a team selling environment and foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Remain solution-oriented, adaptable to changing business needs; welcome feedback and maintain a calm, professional demeanor.
Operations
  • Complete daily tasks without impacting service or Coach standards; maintain store, backroom, cash wrap, and visual merchandising to Coach standards.
  • Maintain a clean selling floor; adhere to retail policies and procedures including POS, operations, and asset protection.
  • Replenish inventory on the sales floor and support store inventory processes; organize stockroom and sales floor efficiently.
  • Assist with cash-wrap as needed; process purchases, returns, and exchanges; handle transactions accurately.
  • Prepare the store by organizing functional areas, performing routine cleaning, and maintaining visual merchandising standards.

Additional Requirements
  • Experience:

    1–3 years of sales experience, preferably in luxury retail; knowledge of fashion trends and competition.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Technical:
    Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (iPad/laptop, Mobile POS, internet), use of walkie talkies, and ability to read price/product release sheets.
  • Physical:
    Ability to perform at a fast pace; ability to maneuver the store and stock room; ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds for shipments/transfers.
  • Schedule:

    Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays with high retail traffic.
