Global Safety Specialist – Hybrid in Wayne, PA or Hartford, CT Offices or Remote

HSB – Hartford Steam Boiler invites you to apply for the Global Safety Specialist – Hybrid in Wayne, PA or Hartford, CT Offices or Remote role.

This specialist‑level position is within HSB’s Corporate Safety Department and holds responsibility for assisting the Director of Global Safety in managing the Corporate Safety Program. The role requires a BS in Industrial Safety or a related field or comparable work experience, with preferred additional safety education or designations.

• BS in Industrial Safety or related field or comparable work experience.
• Certified OSHA 500 and 501 instructor;
  Certified Defensive Driving Instructor; preferably an Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional designation.
• 10+ years working experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience with OSHA regulations; additional regulatory/industry affiliated bodies preferred.
• International safety experience, confined space entry of boilers and/or pressure vessels, contract management, fleet and exposure control.

• Strong presentation skills, ability to build training presentations and work with international audiences.
• Analyze local and industry safety trends to adjust internal safety programs to meet new threats.
• Computer literacy:
  Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint and new technologies as needed.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise and informative written communications.
• Ability to work independently and with a team to develop and deliver safety programs and trainings.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including international destinations.
• Excellent customer service skills: listening, ownership, follow‑up, positive interaction with global clients.
• Team‑player with the ability to work well with others, internally and externally.
• Detail oriented: understanding and tracking program compliance documentation, researching safety issues, following applicable procedures, proper follow‑up, knowing when to elevate critical issues.
• Problem‑solving skills: assess, recommend, select and implement solutions with manager support.
• Work with the team to suggest program and process improvements and document recommendations with manager’s approval.
• Ability to handle multiple complex tasks without interrupting normal work processes or impacting quality of results.

This position requires 25%+ travel, including some international locations.
