About the Position:
Allied Resources is seeking a Service Engineer / Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of microgrid power systems for a long-term assignment in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. This role includes a comprehensive training program in Wayne, PA, followed by a three-year commitment on the island. Job Responsibilities:
- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain microturbines, inverters, and electrical control systems for distributed generation installations.
- Perform electrical wiring, system monitoring, and performance testing for power systems ranging from 65kW to 200kW.
- Support microgrid deployments across hospitality, industrial, residential, and commercial environments.
- Assist with system commissioning, diagnostics, and ongoing operational support.
- Collaborate with local site managers, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure reliable system performance.
- Participate in remote system monitoring and technical support when required.
- Document service work, performance data, system conditions, and maintenance activities.
- Serve as the primary service representative on the island after initial training and supervised ramp‑up.
Qualifications:
- Strong electrical background required; electrical experience prioritized over mechanical.
- Experience working with inverters, electrical power equipment, or distributed generation systems.
- Familiarity with microgrids, CHP, renewable energy, or electrical controls is a plus.
- Ability to work independently following training and onboarding.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- No specific licenses or certifications required, though electrical training or field experience is essential.
- Willingness to relocate to St. Thomas for a minimum 3‑year assignment.
- Paid relocation to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Comprehensive 3–6 month training program in Wayne, PA.
