Civil / Municipal Project Manager
Location: Philadelphia Suburbs, PA
A growing civil engineering and construction firm serving municipalities throughout the Philadelphia suburbs is seeking an experienced Civil / Municipal Project Manager to lead public infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing municipal civil projects including roadway improvements, stormwater systems, water and sewer infrastructure, and site development. This role requires strong coordination with municipal clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage municipal civil projects from design through construction
- Serve as primary point of contact with municipalities, engineers, inspectors, and contractors
- Oversee schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Coordinate design documents, permits, and regulatory approvals
- Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with plans and specifications
- Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, and client updates
- Support proposal development and client relationship management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience managing municipal or public-sector civil projects
- Strong knowledge of local municipal standards, PennDOT, and PA DEP requirements
- Experience with roadway, stormwater, water, and sewer projects
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- PE license preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency with project management software and MS Office
