Bala Consulting Engineers is a 200‑person engineering firm headquartered in Wayne, PA. We are seeking a talented licensed Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) with leadership capability to lead our Fire Protection (FP) Department and support the function enterprise‑wide from select office locations.

• Serve as lead FP engineer and technical expert.
• Participate in design of fire protection systems and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Create detailed plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff.
• Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
• Check and confirm accuracy of work performed by staff.
• Communicate and collaborate with other department managers across all office locations.
• Prepare and deliver internal and external engineering‑related presentations.
• Perform department leader activities including hiring, coaching, and training of staff.

• 7+ years professional experience in fire protection engineering/design.
• PE/FPE license required;
  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Advanced working knowledge of building codes, Fire codes, NFPA Standards and FM Global Data Sheets.
• Proficient in standard engineering procedures with proven critical thinking and quantitative problem‑solving ability.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to multitask, and thrive as part of a team.
• Team supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, BIM, MS Office.
• Skilled technical writer.

Base pay: $100,000 - $150,000 per year.
