Job DescriptionThe Land Development Estimator is responsible for all aspects of take‑offs, including verification of take‑off change requests, review and elimination of material EPO requests, and cost‑analysis recommendations on proposed plan changes.
Your Responsibilities On The Team- Create material take‑offs for all existing, new, and revised plans, with an initial focus on the framing category.
- Maintain the take‑offs of all active plans.
- Interact with Purchasing and Operations departments to verify take‑off change requests.
- Interact with architect/engineering consultants regarding plan changes impacting take‑offs.
- Analyze plans for cost‑analysis recommendations and research cost of proposed design ideas.
- Assist in the review of material EPO requests to ensure they are in accordance with take‑offs and scopes of work, and eliminate the need for material EPOs.
- Complete take‑offs as needed due to special projects and specification changes.
- Field verification of actual quantities vs. quantity take‑offs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Two (2) years of residential construction/architecture experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree preferred. - Full understanding of residential construction, architectural, structural, and MEP design.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with experience using JD Edwards, Build Pro, and other proprietary software.
- Ability to perform multiple, detail‑oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
- Good writing and organization skills.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and loyalty.
- Team player who works well under pressure.
- Initiative and ability to achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
- Detail oriented, problem solver who can handle complex situations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Good interpersonal skills with coworkers.
- Understanding and following work rules and procedures.
- Open to constructive feedback.
