Division Controller – Open to candidates ranging from Assistant Controller to Controller. The title and position will be based on experience. The right candidate will manage all aspects of a division’s historical reporting, anticipatory budgeting, and financial projections, act as the conscience of the division, and lead senior management in compliance with company policies. The role serves as liaison between the division and corporate/region office on accounting and finance matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assume fiduciary responsibility for enforcing operating procedures and policies established by the company.
- Maintain responsibility for all banking activities and execute them in accordance with corporate policies.
- Report financial results in conformity with GAAP and the company’s financial and accounting policies.
- Maintain responsibility for the budgeting process and ensure that all budgets entered into the computerized accounting system reflect contractual or estimated contractual liabilities.
- Oversee the preparation and reliability of all financial projections required by corporate management.
- Responsible for month‑end close process and coordinate the division’s accounting books with Corporate Accounting.
- Coordinate and implement pricing strategy agreed upon by management.
- Fully understand all aspects of the computerized accounting system and utilize it to its full capabilities.
- Perform duties in both the financial and operational segments of the business, devoting time to field visits.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
Directly manage two or more employees in the Accounting Department, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Tasks include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving complaints or problems.
Education and/or Experience- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university.
- Six to eight years of related experience and/or training.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to balance competing deadlines.
- Ability to accurately process and record a large volume of data.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
- Experience working in JD Edwards is a plus.
