Construction Laborer

D.L. George & Sons Construction Company is now hiring Skilled Construction Laborers. Postions available at multiple locations including Waynesboro, PA and Berryville, VA.

Skilled Construction Laborers perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor for construction and demolition projects. They may operate a variety of equipment including hand and power tools: mechanical drills, air hammers, small mechanical hoists, and measuring equipment. They may clean and prepare sites, drill or break rock, climb ladders, erect scaffolding or work on aerial lifts, clean up rubble and debris, and remove other non-hazardous waste materials.

Skilled Laborer Qualifications and Skills:

Construction Laborers must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance. They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions and specifications. They should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving and math skills.

Skilled Laborer Responsibilities and Duties:

• Follow direction and instructions of site supervisor
• Ability to complete required documentation when needed
• Use of construction related equipment, powered, mechanical, and manual
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

REQUIREMENTS :

• MUST be able to pass a Federal Government background screening and obtain a security clearance
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
• Ability to work in outdoor environments up to 12 hours per day, 40 to 50 hours per week
• Majority of work requires standing or walking, climbing, and working on uneven surfaces
• May be required to work at elevation or in a confined space
• Handle material weighing up to 50 pounds with minimal assistance
• May be required to work in adverse weather; wind, heat, rain, or snow
