Construction Heavy Equipment Operator

D.L. George and Sons Construction is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators with a minimum of 3-5 years experience. Operators with the ability to operate a variety of equipment types - Dozers, Front End Loaders and Excavators with a fine grading skill-set is preferred.

Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities and Duties:

The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a variety of tracked and rubber tired equipment ranging from Dozers, Front End Loaders, Excavators and Vibratory Rollers. The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator may also be asked to perform a varied semi-skilled tasks that may involve physical labor for building, highway and construction projects, excavations and demolition.

• Follow direction and instructions of job foreman
• Ability to complete required documentation when needed
• Use of construction related equipment, powered, mechanical, and manual
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications and Skills:

• The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance, and ability to operate equipment in both rough and fine grade assignments.
• They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions and specifications.
• They should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving and math skills.
• They must possess the knowledge and ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operator assigned tasks may require climbing, bending, lifting, sitting, and reaching.
