American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 1 year of PCU/Tele experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of PCU/Telemetry nursing experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- No prior travel experience required with qualifying PCU experience
- Work in the PCU/Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital with 255 staffed beds
- Care for acutely ill adult patients with cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, pulmonary, and other medical conditions
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45am-7:15pm)
- Weekend requirement of every other Saturday with Sundays off
- Meditech charting system used; experience preferred but not required
- Coordinate direct patient care and provide patient education on a busy PCU/Tele unit
- Respond to rapid response and code team activations as needed
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- Fit testing required; candidates must be clean-shaven or provide an approved medical exemption letter prior to start
- Zero-tolerance drug policy in place; medical marijuana cards are not accepted
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates who previously worked a permanent role at the facility within the last 24 months are not eligible
- RTO expectations scale with holidays falling during the assignment period
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply with qualifying experience
