Payroll Accountant

Financial Additions is partnering with a growing organization seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the full accounts payable function, payroll processing support, and assisting the accounting team with month-end close.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and willing to jump in wherever needed. The company operates on a five-day close
, making collaboration across the accounting team especially important during month-end.

• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process
  , including invoice processing, coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor inquiries.
• Coordinate and process payroll in partnership with the company's PEO provider
  ; this role is focused primarily on payroll processing rather than complex payroll administration.
• Review payroll information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with month-end close
  , including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and other close-related activities.
• Work closely with the accounting team to meet the company's five-day month-end close timeline.
• Maintain accurate vendor, AP, and payroll records.
• Assist with account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Support accounting process improvements and system-related projects.
• Work within Quick Books and Quickbase
  , the company's proprietary operating system, as the organization works to integrate the two platforms.
• Provide additional accounting support as needed.

• 3+ years of accounting experience with strong accounts payable and payroll processing exposure.
• Experience owning or managing a high-volume/full-cycle AP function.
• Previous experience assisting with month-end close strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Quick Books experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with a PEO or third-party payroll provider is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort learning new accounting systems.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Team-oriented and willing to be hands-on, particularly during month-end close.
