Job Summary

Skills technicians provide skills instruction within Public Safety Professions programs (Fire, LEA, EMSP) or provide administrative and technical support for the department’s instructional and clinical operations.

Administrative technicians provide administrative and technical support for the department’s instructional and clinical operations.

Certifications and transcripts must be attached to application when applicable.

Required Education
  • EMT Certification or comparable training
  • High School Diploma (for administrative support)
Preferred Education
  • Associate degree in related field
  • Instructor certification in related field
Required Experience
  • 1 year experience with a paid or volunteer Fire/EMS/Police department (skills technician)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, written and oral communication, customer service, office skills (administrative technician)
Preferred Experience
  • 1 year of experience working in an office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Skills Technician:
Assist with skills training, assess skills competency of students, act as participants during scenario training. Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success.

Administrative Technician:
Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining student records. Coordinate and track student paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with program and accreditation requirements. Support student onboarding by preparing orientation materials, verifying documentation, and assisting with background checks, immunization records, and certifications. Assist with clinical site coordination, scheduling student rotations and maintaining communication with clinical partners. Help manage and organize lab and classroom materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.

Provide general office support such as answering phones, responding to student inquiries, and assisting faculty with administrative needs. Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional records. Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success.
