Adjunct Instructor – Business Computer Applications
Position Summary
Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction that facilitates student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, whether face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual‑credit instruction.
All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
Instructor oversees face‑to‑face lab courses and hybrid, online, or dual‑credit courses. Provides instruction that achieves specific course objectives, sustains a professional learning environment, communicates effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups, and treats all persons with respect, dignity, and justice without discrimination.
Qualifications- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline (satifies SACS credential standards).
- Experience teaching face‑to‑face in a lab setting.
- Preferred teaching experience with Canvas and Cengage Mindtap.
- Security‑sensitive position; satisfactory criminal background check required.
- Must be able to teach in person on campus during the afternoon time slot.
- Males aged 18‑25 must be registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
- Instructional ability in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses.
- Effectively create a professional and engaging learning environment.
- Strong communication with students, staff, peers, and the public.
