High Ridge is a nondenominational multi‑site church passionate about our mission to “Strengthen People for Life.” Our vision guides us to help people know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference. We’re looking for a Kids Ministry Director who feels called to shape the spiritual foundation of children ages birth through 5th grade
, invest deeply in leaders and volunteers, and partner with parents as they raise the next generation of faith‑filled world changers.
The kids ministry director provides spiritual leadership and operational oversight for Pre‑K and Elementary Ministries. This role owns the discipleship pathway for kids, develops leaders and volunteers, and serves as a primary connector to young families during weekend services and throughout the week. You’ll work closely with the campus pastor to ensure every child and parent experiences excellence, care, and the love of Jesus from the moment they walk through the doors.
ResponsibilitiesLead & Develop People
- Recruit, train, and empower volunteers who love kids and love Jesus
- Provide leadership and oversight to staff, coaches, leaders, and ministry teams
- Lead onboarding and development processes for new volunteers and leaders
- Conduct quarterly reviews for hourly positions
- Foster a healthy, encouraging, and growth‑oriented team culture
Cast Vision & Build Strategy
- Serve as the visionary leader for Pre‑K and Elementary Ministries
- Implement and lead the Spiritual Growth Track (SGT) for kids and leaders
- Help shape long‑term strategies for discipleship, leadership development, and growth
Create an Exceptional Weekend Experience
- Oversee the full Kids Ministry weekend experience from start to finish
- Curriculum, scripts, and content
- Order of service and classroom design
- Planning tools (PCO, CCB)
- Execution through coaches, captains, and team members
- Follow‑up processes, including spiritual growth and family communication
- Lead and oversee Pre‑K and Elementary weekend huddles
Partner with Families
- Intentionally connect with young families on Sundays and throughout the week
- Represent Kids Ministry at membership classes, baptisms, child dedications, and church‑wide events
- Ensure outstanding customer service, clear communication, and quick problem resolution
Operational & Administrative Leadership
- Oversee policy manual updates and ministry procedures
- Coordinate child dedications and special events
- Work with leadership to develop a plan for kids with special needs
- Oversee purchasing, supplies, and ministry budgets
- Manage financial systems and expense tracking
- Collaborate with the Kids Coordinator and Associate Director of High Ridge Kids School
Who You Are

- Is teachable, flexible, detail‑oriented, and a strong team player
- Communicates clearly and confidently (both one‑on‑one and publicly)
- Can navigate conflict with wisdom, grace, and maturity
- Has experience in Kids Ministry (preferred, but not required for the right leader)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership and relational skills
- Experience recruiting and leading volunteer teams
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred
- Competitive compensation ($50,000‑$60,000 depending on experience)
