RN Charge Weekend - MedSurg; Nights

Position: RN Charge Weekend - MedSurg (Nights)

The Charge Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and Clinical Manager, and is responsible for the delivery of efficient, safe patient care through the use of the nursing process, hospital policies and procedures. In addition, the Charge Nurse directs nursing service activities in the department, delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records, and assists with reports on staff performance and services rendered as appropriate or requested.

Assists with bed assignments, and various problems as they arise. Maintains preset inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines, equipment, and tracks narcotics and medications. Position Details:
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

* Experience:

Minimum 3 years bedside related experience
* Education :
Graduated from a school of nursing (associate's degree, Diploma, or BSN).
* Licensure :
Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

* Certifications:

Must have American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within probationary period. Must have ACLS and BLS or obtain within 90 days of hire. Why Mercy?
