Performs, analyzes, interprets clinical laboratory testing in the following laboratory scientific disciplines:
Blood Transfusion Services, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Serology, Virology, Coagulation, and Immunology.
- Recognizes and acts on Critical Value results according to procedure manuals and reports them out promptly.
- Performs required quality control analysis according to the procedure manual and reports any unresolved problems to the Lab Director before reporting outpatient results.
- Properly logs and reports all results according to procedure manuals.
- Understands principles and maintains knowledge of instrumentation required to be used in all laboratory testing.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repair of equipment as needed according to procedure manuals and manufacturer specifications.
- Varied work schedule including day/night/weekends and rotating holidays.
