Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Overview

We are hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our dynamic care team at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster!

Full-time, part-time, and per diem openings on first shift 7a-3p. Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus available! Weekly pay at $35 an hour.

Responsibilities
  • As a Licensed Practical Nurse, provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants to ensure the highest quality of care at all times.
  • Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
  • Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under your care.
  • Follow physician’s orders; render and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders.
  • Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately.
  • Review patient records daily to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes.
  • Visit each resident daily to evaluate resident needs.
  • Maintain awareness of residents on alert list and document/report unusual findings; contact the physician when necessary.
  • Administer medication according to procedure and maintain safe control of all drugs under responsibility.
  • Initiate emergency procedures as necessary and demonstrate correct safety techniques.
  • Respect and care for facility equipment and avoid waste of supplies.
  • Contribute to effective communication and a pleasant working environment; promote positive resident and family relations.
  • Comply with facility Privacy Practices Policies & Procedures, protecting residents’ health information.
  • Support ongoing growth and expand job knowledge; demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or related health care facility is preferable.
  • New graduates welcome!
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills and familiarity with drug actions and interactions.
  • Must have knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and utilize them appropriately.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm; willing to handle difficult residents and seek out new methods to improve nursing practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
